Ocean Park HK
Wednesday, April 9, 2008
We went to Ocean Park HK last Saturday. We (Tita Gi, Dylan and I) met up with Rita and her cousin, Venus.

(L-R) Dylan, Venus, Rita and Me..
While on the escalator...

First, we (Rita, Venus, Dylan and I) rode on the 'Raging River'... My tita doesn't want to come with us because she's a little bit scared. And she doesn't want to scare herself just by riding on those rides. ^^ She just stayed in a place where she can wait for us... Well, I got wet after the ride! My clothes are really wet! Escpecially my shorts! Oh no. But it was fun... Even though a little bit scary. ^^ But it was alright. ^^ It was fine.

This shot was taken by my tita after the ride.
And then next, we rode on the 'Mine Train'... It is a roller coaster. For me, it is really really scary! Dylan and I prayed a lot! Ha-ha. We're scared. But most of the time, my eyes are closed while I was on it. I think it is more scary if your eyes are open the whole time while you are on it. Because it is fast and high. Scary for me. It was like, your stomach is falling down! Ha-ha. But it was fun. Very exciting! But before we rode on it, I'm really hesitating if I will ride because the ride is not suitable for people who have spinal problems... And I do have an scoliosis! ... I think it is because of the 'shakes' so, they do not allow people who have spinal problems. Imagine that! Hmmm... Very disobedient! .... I'm quite guilty. Really. Ha-ha. Below are some of our shots taken by Tita Gi while we were on the 'Mine Train'... Whooooo! ^^

After that ride we went to the 'Pacific Pier'. We saw some seals there. ^^

And then, lunch time! ^^ We went to McDonald's to buy some food. The line there was too long plus the weather was terribly hot, we really need to be patient. Alright. When we got our food, we were looking for a place where it is cool (because it was really hot) where we can eat our lunch. But unfortunately, there was no available table with a shade (the one with an umbrella). All was occupied. So, we ate our lunch at a table with no shade. Gosh. The heat was intensifying! And guess what, we stayed there for more than thirty minutes! Because, we were teaching Rita and Venus how to solve the Rubik's cube. Suffered! Oh no. But it was fine with me.

The heat was intensifying!
After we ate our lunch. Rita, Venus and I, rode on the 'Flying Swing', while Dylan played some skill games. I enjoyed the ride very much. ^^ The ride wasn't scary at all. It was fun. Here are some of our shots:

Then, we rode on the 'Crazy Galleon'. ^^ The ride was exciting. Though a little bit scary. But it was fine. I survived. ^^ Lol.

Dylan and Tita Gi... After the ride on the 'Crazy Galleon'.
And then, we went to the 'Atoll Reef'....

After that, we went to the 'Shark Aquarium'...

Wow. Color BLUE! ^^
And then, we rode on the cable car in order to get to the lowland...

Rita and I...

Venus and I...

Love the view from the top! ^^
And after we have reached the lowland, we went to 'The Hong Kong Jockey Club Giant Panda Habitat'. The pandas are soooo cute! Take a look at them. ^^

And then, Rita and I tried the 'Bungee Trampoline'... Ha-ha. ^^

We stayed in a place and took a rest for a while and then we did some picture taking before we said goodbye to each other. ^^

Ha-ha. Fake hot air balloon! ^^
And then, we bought some souvenirs... ^^

Mobile accessories...
And then, we said our goodbyes... Tita Gi, Dylan and I went to a restaurant in Sai Wan Ho to eat our dinner. And then, after eating, we went home. I think it was almost 10:00 pm.... Well, it was fun but tiring... End of the story! ^^

What is there to smile about?
Monday, April 7, 2008
It can be tough to smile, and not just when you're freaked about being in a new situation. And let's face it, sometimes your life feels like the lyrics to a bad country song: you're fighting with your boyfriend, your parents want to ground you, you forgot your geometry homework, and it's only Tuesday. Actually, these are the times when smiling can help you most. Studies have shown that a smile is enough to boost your mood, even when it's fake! So if you're feeling lower than the gum on your shoe, pretending to be happy or at least forcing a smile can give you the lift you need to get through the day. Who knows? You may make someone else's day while you're at it. ^^

* ONE. Super takaw ko pero hindi ako tumataba! Ang payat ko nga eh. Sabi ng tita ko, mabilis raw ang metabolism ko... Ayun. She said as I get older, my metabolism will get slower and slower... So, I really need to be aware of it. ^^
* TWO. I am more productive at nighttime than daytime. Ha-ha! I don't know... I think I am not a morning person.
* THREE. After I have eaten a lot, I want to eat more after a few minutes. I don't know why... But I think I'm not hungry... I think I'm just craving for more. Craving for more fries... craving for more mango pudding... craving for more sushi... craving for more food! Oh no! It's a sin! (Ok lang. Hindi naman ako tumataba eh. Lol. ^^
* FOUR. I easily get tired of doing the same thing... eating the same thing... looking at the same thing... hearing the same thing... reading the same thing... watching the same thing... And blah blah blah... Lol. Madali akong magsawa eh... It depends on my mood. At tsaka, hindi ako madaling makuntento...
* FIVE. I love fries very much... Even though I know that it's not healthy... My tita said that I should stop eating junk foods. Fries is not a healthy food, right? ... Haaaay... It's like I'm addicted to it. But I need to control myself or else.......... I might get sick. And I don't want that to happen.
* SIX. I am very very very sympathetic. Super bilis kong maawa... Ewan ko ba sa sarili ko. Kung anu-ano na lang. Every time I see someone look very hopeless in the street... or someone who is disabled... or someone old who is pushing a cart that is full of things that came from the garbage can.... or someone begging for money to buy some food... Yung mga ganong tao... Minsan nga sa mukha pa lang nila, super naaawa na ako. At marami pang iba. As in. Ewan. Basta. I easily feel sorry for them. I don't know why. It's like I want to accompany them and offer them a help. But I can't.
* SEVEN. Pagka-uwi ko sa bahay, I do not easily change my clothes... Yung pang-alis na damit ko, minsan yun na yung damit kong pantulog sa sobrang katamaran ko! Lol. I often do that. But now I am trying to stop that habit of mine or else masisira lahat ng damit ko. Ha-ha.

Dinner with Angela and Amy
Monday, March 31, 2008
We had a dinner with Angela and Amy last Saturday, March 29, 2008. I forgot the name of the restaurant. It some kind of Orchard Garden blah blah blah something in Causeway Bay... Ha-ha. But the food there was great. ^^ I really had fun eating there. As far as you know, Angela is an officemate of my tita who is an editor... Both of them are editors.... While Amy is the elder sister of Angela. They're Chinese or should I say Hong Kong people because they live in Hong Kong but they can speak English well. I don't know them well. I'm not close to them. I'm quite shy in having a conversation with them because that was my first time I saw them and talked to them. Them, them, them... Lol. Well actually, they are nice... They are very generous... ^^ And here are some of our shots during the dinner:
(L-R) Dylan, Me, Amy and Angela...

(L-R) Angela, Tita Gi, Dylan and I...

Dylan and I...
My favorite part... The food! Yummy! Lol. Here are some of the shots:

And after the dinner, Angela brought us to the mall for us to try the sticker photo blah blah something... I don't know what it is really called. It is sort of a small room... and there's a built-in camera inside... and there is a screen where you can see yourselves... and all you need to do is drop some tokens in it and make your settings... I mean, you will choose the backgrounds which you would like to appear in your photos... and then if you're ready, you can pose for the shots... Something like that. And then, you can decorate your photos after that shots had taken... You can add glittery flowers, stars, hearts... accessories... colorful objects in it. And then, after that, the pictures will be printed... the sizes were based on the setting you chose... But honestly, we had a hard time setting up the machine because, we don't understand the texts... It is written neither in English nor in Cantonese... I think it is Niponggo... I don't know... Because if it is written in Cantonese, Angela can understand it very well... And then, when you already have it, cut it, and stick it in your mobile phone, in your wallet, in your camera... You can put it wherever you want. ^^ Here it is:

Then, we went to Amy's office to pick up the "Monopoly boardgame" ... Because when we were having our dinner, Amy asked us if we (Dylan and I) want to have it (monopoly boardgame)... And then we said, if it is fine, we'll take it. She said it's fine. And then, we thanked her. I guess she is not interested in playing it. So she wants to give it to us. ^^ Wow. Imagine, we got it for free. ^^ Yehey! Very lucky. She's very generous. We just walked until we reached her office. It's a little bit tiring and it's almost 10:30 in the evening. But it's fine with me. Walking is a form of exercise. ^^ And then after we got the boardgame, we stayed a little bit there in her office while doing some small talks and then went home. End of the story! ^^

Rai Rai Ken
Sunday, December 30, 2007
I've been so exhausted walking around the mall. I'm super tired! We went to SM Southmall to buy some new clothes and shoes. And I bought some gummi candies too (gummi worms to be exact) ! Yummy! ^^ While we were shopping, I felt a little dizzy and not feeling good so, I stayed quiet for a while, hoping that the dizziness wouldn't last. I want to eat at that time. I'm really starving but we're not yet done shopping. So I've waited. And then when we're done, we're looking for a restaurant. We had a hard time deciding where to eat. Maybe it took 20 minutes before we decided to eat at Rai Rai Ken, a Japanese restaurant. The food there tastes delicious and we don't have any regrets in eating there. It was all worth it... Here are some photographs of us eating at Rai Rai Ken:
My aunt, Gigi and my cousin, Dylan...
(L-R) Me, Dylan, Trixie, Mom and Dad...
My younger sister, Trixie and my mom...After eating dinner, I bought some snacks at the supermarket while Dylan, Trixie and Tita Gi stayed at the restaurant and waited for me, while my mom and my dad put the shopping bags in the car, so we will not going to have a hard time carrying those. Because those are heavy and we don't want to suffer. Ha-ha. ^^ After that, we did a little walking and then went home. Wheew! That was tiring.... but fun!

ARTICLE
Friday, December 28, 2007
GUYS, PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE BELOW. DON'T JUST IGNORE IT. ^^
Subject: A MUST READ - CHILDREN ON THE INTERNETEVERYONE NEEDS TO READ ALL OF THIS and HAVE YOUR CHILDREN READ IT TOO!
After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and geton-line She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message:
ByAngel213: Hi. I'm glad you are on! I thought someone was following me home today. It was really weird!
GoTo123: LOL You watch too much TV. Why would someone be following you? Don't you live in a safe neighborhood?
ByAngel213: Of course I do. LOL. I guess it was my imagination cuz' I didn't see anybody when I looked out.
GoTo123: Unless you gave your name out on-line. You haven't done that have you?
ByAngel213: Of course not. I'm not stupid you know.
GoTo123: Did you have a softball game after school today?
ByAngel213: Yes and we won!!
GoTo123: That's great! Who did you play?
ByAngel213: We played the Hornets. LOL. Their uniforms are so gross! They look like bees. LOL
GoTo123: What is your team called?
ByAngel213: We are the Canton Cats. We have tiger paws on our uniforms. They are really cool.
GoTo123: Did you pitch?
ByAngel213: No, I play second base. I got to go. My homework has to be done before my parents get home. I don't want them mad at me. Bye!
GoTo123: Catch you later. Bye.Meanwhile......
GoTo123 went to the member menu and began to search for herprofile. When it came up, he highlighted it and printed it out. He took out a pen and began to write down what he knew about Angel so far.
Her name: Shannon
Birthday: Jan. 3, 1985
Age: 13
State where she lived: North Carolina
Hobbies: softball, chorus, skating and going to the mall.
Besides this information, he knew she lived in Canton because she had just told him. He knew she stayed by herself until 6:30 p.m. every afternoon until her parentscame home from work. He knew she played softball on Thursday afternoons on the school team, and the team was named the Canton Cats. Her favorite number 7 was printed on her jersey. He knew she was in the eighth grade at the Canton Junior High School She had told him all this in the conversations they had on-line. He had enough information to find her now.Shannon didn't tell her parents about the incident on the way home from the ballpark that day. She didn't want them to make a scene and stop her from walking home from the softball games. Parents were always overreacting andhers were the worst. It made her wish she was not an only child. Maybe if she had brothers and sisters, her parents wouldn't be so overprotective.
By Thursday, Shannon had forgotten about the footsteps following her. Her game was in full swing when suddenly she felt someone staring at her. It was then that the memory came back. She glanced up from her second base position to see a man watching her closely. He was leaning against the fence behind first base and he smiled when she looked at him. He didn't look scary and she quickly dismissed the sudden fear she had felt.
After the game, he sat on a bleacher while she talked to the coach. She noticed his smile once again as she walked past him. He nodded and she smiled back. He noticed her name on the back of her shirt. He knew he had found her.
Quietly, he walked a safe distance behind her. It was only a few blocks to Shannon's home, and once he saw where she lived he quickly returned to the park to get his car. Now he had to wait. He decided to get a bite to eat until the time came to go to Shannon 's house. He drove to a fast food restaurant and sat there until time to make his move.
Shannon was in her room later that evening when she heard voices in the living room."Shannon, come here," her father called. He sounded upset and she couldn't imagine why. She went into the room to see the man from the ballpark sitting on the sofa."Sit down," her father began, "this man has just told us a most interesting story about you.
"Shannon sat back. How could he tell her parents anything? She had never seen him before today!
"Do you know who I am, Shannon ?" the man asked.
"No," Shannon answered.
"I am a police officer and your online friend, GoTo123."
Shannon was stunned.
"That's impossible! GoTo is a kid my age! He's 14. And he lives in Michigan !"
The man smiled. "I know I told you all that, but it wasn't true. You see, Shannon , there are people on-line who pretend to be kids; I was one of them. But while others do it to injure kids and hurt them, I belong to a group of parents who do it to protect kids from predators. I came here to find you to teach you how dangerous it is to talk to people on-line. You told me enough about yourself to make it easy for me to find you. You named the school you went to, the name of your ball team and the position you played. The number and name on your jersey just made finding you a breeze."Shannon was stunned. "You mean you don't live in Michigan ?
"He laughed. "No, I live in Raleigh . It made you feel safe to think I was so far away, didn't it?
"She nodded."I had a friend whose daughter was like you. Only she wasn't as lucky.
The guy found her and murdered her while she was home alone. Kids are taught notto tell anyone when they are alone, yet they do it all the time on-line The wrong people trick you into giving out information a little here and there on-line. Before you know it, you have told them enough for them to find youwithout even realizing you have done it. I hope you've learned a lesson from this and won't do it again. Tell others about this so they will be safe too?"
"It's a promise!"
That night Shannon and her Dad and Mom all knelt down together and thanked God for protecting Shannon from what could have been a tragic situation.
*****NOW***** What is your reaction??? Freaky. Huh?? Wheew! ^^ Let your friends know about this. ^^
